Custom plush keychains are small soft toys, usually 8–12 cm, made in your mascot, logo shape or a festive character and fitted with a keyring or clip so people hang them on bags and lanyards.
For most Singapore orders the MOQ starts from about 100 pieces, and production takes roughly 4–6 weeks after you approve the sample.
That means you need to brief your supplier about two months before the event.
If you're planning year-end gifts, a company D&D or Chinese New Year 2027 merch, plush keychains are one of the few giveaways that people actively show off instead of leaving in a drawer. Bag charms are everywhere right now, and a well-made mascot charm gets seen on commutes, in offices and on campus long after your event ends.
Below, we cover what they cost, how the MOQ works, a realistic timeline, and the decisions that make or break a plush order.
Why plush keychains work as corporate giveaways
Most event giveaways compete for drawer space. A plush keychain is different because it's meant to be displayed. It goes on a backpack, a work bag, a lanyard or a car key, so your brand travels with the person.
They also suit a wide range of occasions:
Year-end D&Ds and lucky draws: a cute mascot charm as a door gift, with a larger plush as a top prize.
Chinese New Year 2027: a Year of the Goat character in your brand colours, handed out with red packets.
Brand activations and roadshows: a low-cost, high-visibility item for sign-ups or social posts.
Schools and universities: open house giveaways, orientation kits and graduation keepsakes.
Collectible campaigns: a series of 3–6 designs, so people come back for the full set.
How much do custom plush keychains cost in Singapore?
On our corporate gifts pricing guide, custom plushies range from $12 to $40 per unit, with an MOQ of 100 units. Keychain-size plush (8–12 cm) usually sits towards the lower end of that range because it uses less fabric and stuffing, but the exact price depends on your design.
The main things that move the price:
Size: an 8 cm charm costs less than a 12 cm one.
Design complexity: a simple round or blob shape is cheaper than a full mascot with arms, ears and accessories.
Logo method: embroidery is durable and premium; printed details can be cheaper for small text.
Number of colours and fabrics: each extra fabric adds cutting and sewing time.
Hardware: a basic keyring is cheapest; lobster clasps, carabiners or coloured chains add cost.
Quantity: our pricing guide notes that ordering 300 instead of 100 units can reduce per-unit cost by 20–40%.
Packaging: individual polybags are standard; custom boxes or hangtags add about 1–5 per unit.
What is the MOQ for custom plush keychains?
For most Singapore plush projects, the MOQ starts at around 100 pieces. For complex mascots with many parts, factories often prefer 300–500 pieces, because the sampling and pattern-making cost is spread across more units.
If you only need 50–80 pieces, it's often still worth ordering 100. The per-unit price at 100 is usually close enough that the extra pieces become spares for new hires, future events or client drop-offs.
How long does it take?
A week-by-week timeline
Custom plush is not a last-minute item. Each design is patterned, sampled and sewn, so plan for about 4–6 weeks of production after you approve the pre-production sample, and 6–8+ weeks for complex builds. Here's a realistic timeline:
Week 0 – Brief. Send your mascot artwork or logo, target size, quantity, keyring type and event date.
Days 1–2 – Digital mockup. We send a mockup within 24–48 hours of receiving your brief and assets.
Weeks 1–2 – Prototype. The first sample is sewn and shared as photos or video, with a physical sample couriered if needed.
Week 2–3 – Sample sign-off. You approve fabric, stitching, embroidery, colours and packaging.
Weeks 3–8 – Production and QA. Pieces are cut, sewn, stuffed, checked and packed.
Final days – Delivery. Island-wide delivery, with split drops to multiple sites if you need them.
Working backwards for Chinese New Year 2027 (6 February): to have keychains in hand by mid-January for distribution, aim to brief by early December and approve your sample before the Christmas break.
For a December D&D, a fully custom plush is usually too tight if you haven't started by late October, so consider a ready-made plush with a custom tag or ribbon instead.
5 mistakes to avoid when ordering plush keychains
Sending a flat logo and expecting a plush. A logo needs to be "translated" into a 3D shape. Give your supplier front, side and back references, or ask for a simplified mascot version.
Going too small for the detail. Fine lines and small text don't survive at 8 cm. Keep the design bold and simple, and move fine text to a hangtag.
Skipping the physical sample. Colours on screen and on fabric can look different. If brand colours matter, ask for a sample before mass production.
Forgetting the hardware. Decide early whether you want a keyring, clasp or bag-charm chain. It changes the look and the price.
Not checking safety for young audiences. If the charms are going to children, ask about safety testing such as EN71 or ASTM, and avoid small detachable parts.
Mini example: a year-end D&D door gift
A fictional example":
An events team at a 250-person logistics company wants a door gift for its January D&D, which has a "night at the zoo" theme. They brief in early November with their delivery-truck mascot reimagined as a 10 cm plush charm, with the company logo embroidered on the back and a lobster clasp.
They order 300 pieces instead of 250 to get a better unit price and keep 50 as spares for new joiners. After a digital mockup and one round of sample tweaks (the wheels were simplified so they wouldn't snag), production runs through December. The charms arrive individually bagged with a branded hangtag, ready for the table setup.
Pair it with the rest of your event kit
Plush keychains work best as part of a set.
Add them to a tote or goodie bag, pair them with a custom blind box for a collectible series, or use a larger mascot plushie as the top lucky draw prize. You can browse the full range in our custom plushies collection or the shop hub.

FAQ
What is the minimum order for custom plush keychains in Singapore?
Most custom plush projects start from about 100 pieces. Complex mascots with many parts or colours may need 300–500 pieces, because pattern-making and sampling costs are shared across more units. If you need fewer than 100, it's usually worth ordering 100 and keeping spares for future events or new hires.
How long does it take to make custom plush keychains?
Plan for about 4–6 weeks of production after you approve the sample, or 6–8+ weeks for complex designs. Add time for the digital mockup and prototype before that. For a February event like Chinese New Year, brief your supplier by early December so there's room for one round of sample changes.
Can you turn our logo into a plush keychain?
Yes, but most logos need to be simplified into a 3D shape first. A bold, simple outline works best at 8–12 cm. Your logo can then be embroidered or printed on the front or back, and fine text can go on a hangtag. We share a digital mockup before anything is sewn.
Are plush keychains safe for children?
They can be. If your charms are going to children, for example at a school or family day, ask for safety testing such as EN71 or ASTM and avoid small parts that can detach. Embroidered eyes and details are safer than glued or plastic pieces for younger audiences.
Can we order different designs in one batch?
Often, yes. Many companies order a series of two to six characters for a collectible campaign. Each design usually needs its own pattern and sample, so the MOQ may apply per design. Tell us your total quantity and number of designs and we'll suggest the most cost-effective split.
